Course Overview

Practical workplace awareness training on food labelling, prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) food and Natasha’s Law. Learners practise deciding whether food is PPDS, building an ingredients list, emphasising allergens, handling compound ingredients and recipe changes, using precautionary allergen labelling responsibly, and checking labels before sale. The course also explains where wider prepacked-food labelling rules may apply and when a business should seek product-specific advice. Awareness training with an assessment and a certificate of completion — not a regulated qualification or accredited certification.

About this course

This course focuses on practical food-labelling decisions that small food businesses make every day. It covers PPDS food and the requirements commonly known as Natasha’s Law across the UK, while clearly separating PPDS rules from wider prepacked and non-prepacked food rules.

Law and official guidance can change. The course is based on current FSA, Food Standards Scotland and GOV.UK guidance reviewed in September 2026.
